Hello, my name is Rebecca May Johnson, I am a writer and cook and this is my newsletter. I send out short pieces of writing, diary entries, recipes, and notes on what I’ve been eating at home and elsewhere. My debut book of creative nonfiction Small Fires, An Epic in the Kitchen was published in August 2022 in the UK and June 2023 in the US. It won the Nach Waxman prize for food and drink scholarship in May 2024.
